Welcome to the HP Community Forum.

Try the following method:

Remove the unwanted printer from your HP Account Dashboard

After the device is removed > Restart the computer and log in.

Caveat - If the printer was ever subscribed to Instant Ink, that printer might resist being removed from your HP Account.

HP Account - Login / Dashboard

Notes:

  • Log into your HP Account if / when you need central access to your device information, including the ability to update your personal  information.
  • Printers that are / were subscribed to Instant Ink might resist being removed and will remain in the list.
  • Open and Read >>>   HP Support Personal Dashboard Resource Guide
  • Device renaming in the Dashboard does not rename the printer in Devices and Printers (Windows)

Example - HP Account Dashboard

HP_Account_Dashboard_6HP_Account_Dashboard_6

Next,

If the HP Support Assistant (HPSA) is installed,

Check / Remove unwanted printer from the HPSA.

Note - if the HPSA proves stubborn and won't remove a device that has been removed from the system and the Dashboard, consider:  Uninstall the HP Support Assistant > Restart the computer and log in > Get a new copy of the HPSA from the Windows Store.

Example - HPSA Application - Remove Device
