HP Officejet 6700 Premium e-All-in-One Printer - H711n

printer has been fine for years; suddenly this evening my pc says the printer is offline, but the printer says it is connected, and connected to the same household network as the pc (and this is not a new network).  any ideas why the pc can't communicate with it??  i've tried restarting printer, router and pc and the problem persists.   pc (using HP app) cannot communicate with printer, again, even though both devices are connected to same network.  any ideas?

Hello,

Please check the printer status as follows:

  1. On the keyboard, press the Windows logo and R keys simultaneously. The Run window will open.
  2. Type control printers, and then press the Enter key. The Devices and Printers window will open.
  3. Right-click on the name of your printer, and then click See wath's printings.
  4. Click on the Printer menu, then uncheck Pause Printing and uncheck Use Printer Offline.
  5. Try to print again.

If issue continues, please configure a new TCP/IP port as follows:

  1. On the keyboard, press the Windows logo key and the R key simultaneously. The Run window opens.
  2. Type control printers, then press Enter. The Devices and Printers window opens.
  3. Right-click on your printer icon, then click on Printer properties, click on the Ports tab, and click on Add Port....
  4. Select Standard TCP/IP Port and click New Port....
  5. Click Next, then enter the printer's IP address (e.g. 192.168.1.97) in the Printer Name or IP Address field and click Next.
  6. Once the port is added, click Finish and close all windows.
  7. Try to print again.

I remain at your disposal in case of need.

Best regards,
