Hi @polkapete,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding printers' connectivity!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It seems like your HP OfficeJet Pro 8135e is connected to the network but isn't able to print because it’s not recognizing the internet connection properly. Here’s how to resolve the issue:

1. Restart Everything

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it for about 1-2 minutes.
  • Restart your router and modem to refresh the internet connection.
  • Turn the printer back on and check if the connection works after rebooting.

2. Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi

Sometimes the printer may need to be reconnected to your Wi-Fi:

  1. On the printer, go to the Control Panel or Settings and find the Wireless Setup Wizard.
  2. Select your new network (Frontier Wi-Fi) from the list.
  3. Enter the Wi-Fi password again.
  4. After reconnecting, check if the printer can now communicate properly with the network.

3. Check Printer Connection in HP Smart App

  1. Open the HP Smart App on your phone or PC.
  2. Go to the Printers section and confirm that the printer shows up as online.
  3. If the printer still shows offline, click on “Fix Connectivity Issues” in the HP Smart App.
  4. Follow the prompts to reset the connection or troubleshoot further.

4. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor

  1. Download HP Print and Scan Doctor (HP Print and Scan Doctor).
  2. Run the program, and let it automatically diagnose and resolve the issue.
  3. It will check for network issues and printer communication problems, and fix them if possible.

5. Update Printer Firmware

  1. Go to the HP support website and search for your printer model.
  2. Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer.
  3. Follow the instructions to update the firmware. This could resolve any wireless issues.

Let me know if any of these steps help, or if the issue continues, we can try more troubleshooting! 😊
