@Terrence1040, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP printer is showing as offline and you're unable to get it online, here are some steps to help resolve the issue:

Check Printer Status

  • Make sure the printer is powered on and not in sleep mode.
  • Check the control panel or screen for any error messages or blinking lights.

Restart Devices

  • Power off your printer, computer, and router.
  • Wait 30 seconds, then power them back on in this order: router → printer → computer.

Ensure Proper Connection

  • For Wi-Fi printers: Make sure the printer is connected to the correct wireless network.
    • You can print a Wireless Network Test Report from the printer’s control panel.
  • For USB printers: Ensure the cable is securely connected and try a different USB port.

Set Printer Online in Windows

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click your printer > See what’s printing.
  • In the new window, click Printer > Uncheck Use Printer Offline.

Reinstall the Printer

  • Remove the printer from Devices and Printers.
  • Reinstall it using the latest drivers from HP: Official HP® Support

Assign a Static IP (Optional but Recommended for Wi-Fi printers)

  • Access your printer’s IP address via the control panel.
  • Log into your router and assign a static IP to the printer to prevent future disconnections.
