Hi @GFaith,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Error 79 on a printer typically indicates a firmware issue or a problem with the print job queue. Here are the steps you can take to resolve this issue and get your printer back online:

Power Cycle the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for at least 30 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.

Check Network Connections:

  • Ensure the printer is properly connected to your network if it's a network printer.
  • Verify that the Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi connection is stable and secure.

Clear Print Queue:

  • On your computer, go to the "Devices and Printers" section.
  • Right-click on the printer icon and select "See what's printing".
  • Cancel all print jobs.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Visit the HP website and download the latest firmware for your printer model.
  • Follow the instructions to update the firmware. This might involve connecting the printer to a computer via USB.

Reset to Factory Defaults:

  • Refer to your printer's manual on how to reset it to factory settings.
  • This can often resolve firmware and network configuration issues.

Check for Driver Updates:

  • Ensure that you have the latest drivers installed for your printer.
  • Visit the HP website to download and install the latest drivers for your printer model.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
