How do I change it to online

I understand you are trying to get your HP OfficeJet 5740 e-All-in-One Printer back online, follow these steps:
 

1. Check the Printer Connection

  • Ensure the printer is turned on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer.
  • If it’s connected via USB, make sure the cable is secure.

2. Restart Devices

  • Restart the printer, computer, and router.
  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait 1-2 minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on.

3. Set the Printer as Default

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
  • Select your HP OfficeJet 5740, click Manage, then choose Set as default.

4. Check Printer Status

  • In Printers & scanners, click on your printer and select Open queue.
  • In the queue window, go to Printer and ensure Use Printer Offline is not checked.

5. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool from HP’s website. This tool can help identify and fix issues automatically.

6. Update or Reinstall the Printer Driver

  • Sometimes, outdated or corrupted drivers can cause connectivity issues.
  • Go to the HP Support website, download the latest driver for the OfficeJet 5740, and install it.
