Hi @Tracy5172,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
If your HP printer is showing as offline and you've already tried the usual steps, let's go through a complete checklist to make sure nothing is missed:
1. Restart Everything
- Turn off your printer, computer, and Wi-Fi router.
- Wait 30 seconds, then turn them back on in this order: router → printer → computer.
2. Check Printer Connection
- USB: Make sure the cable is securely connected.
- Wi-Fi:
- On the printer, go to Settings > Network Setup > Wireless Settings.
- Run Wireless Network Test or reconnect to your Wi-Fi.
3. Set Printer to Online Manually
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click your printer → Select "See what's printing".
- Click Printer in the top menu → Uncheck "Use Printer Offline".
4. Set as Default Printer
- In Devices and Printers, right-click your printer → Select "Set as default printer".
5. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Download from: HP Smart - Free download and install on Windows | Microsoft Store
- It will automatically detect and fix offline issues.
6. Reinstall the Printer
- Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
- Remove your printer.
- Click Add device to reinstall it.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
