Hi @l-a21,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand how frustrating it is when your HP printer was working just fine yesterday and now it suddenly won’t connect. Let’s walk through the steps to help restore the connection and get you printing again.

Recommended Steps – Printer Lost Connection

1. Restart Everything

Sometimes a simple restart resolves temporary network glitches.

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it for 30 seconds.
  • Restart your Wi-Fi router.
  • Restart your computer or mobile device.
  • Turn the printer back on and wait for it to reconnect.

2. Reconnect to Wi-Fi

If the printer didn’t reconnect automatically:

  • On the printer control panel, go to Settings > Network Setup > Wireless Settings.
  • Select Restore Network Defaults.
  • Reconnect using the HP Smart app or manually enter your Wi-Fi credentials.

Make sure your printer is on the same network as your device.

3. Check HP App

  • Open the HP app.
  • Tap Add Printer if it’s not listed.
  • If it shows as offline, tap the printer and follow prompts to reconnect.

4. Check Firewall or Antivirus Settings

Sometimes security software blocks printer communication.

  • Temporarily disable the firewall or antivirus.
  • Try reconnecting the printer.
  • Re-enable security software after successful connection.

5. Update Printer Firmware

Outdated firmware can cause connectivity issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
