i live in an apartment that provides internet. they provide 5g wifi, but my printer wont connect. I had set it up over 2g wifi (before i moved) and it still was printing fine once i got into the apartment. now it refuses to connect to anything, so i tried setting it up again, but says it will not connect to 5g network. but this is the only network i have, and its for the entire complex so theres nothing i can do. i just wanna print some stuff for school 😭

Hardwire with a USB cable. Not as convenient as wireless but sounds like your only option in this case.

Hi @shortyyz,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.
I see that you are facing an issue with connecting your Printer to the network.
Please follow the steps below to connect your printer to the network again.
1) Uninstall the HP smart app by click on this link, Restart the computer or mobile device to clear possible error conditions.
2) Enable Wi-Fi setup mode: When you turn on your printer for the first time, it is temporarily placed in Wi-Fi setup mode so that it can be discovered during setup. Use the printer control panel to restore Wi-Fi setup mode, and then set up the printer again. Go to Restore Wi-Fi setup mode on your HP printer for more information.
3) Refer to this link to use the HP smart app on your phone/tablet/PC to add a printer.
Note: Enable Bluetooth for an HP Smart app setup: Enable Bluetooth on your computer or mobile device so that HP Smart can detect the printer during the setup.

Hi @shortyyz,
I am sorry to hear that the above steps did not help much but i do appreciate your efforts in performing the troubleshooting steps.
As the printer does not support 5Ghz bandwidth, they only way to get the printer on the network is by connecting to 2.4Ghz bandwidth.
Take care and have a great day ahead!

Hi @shortyyz,
As your apartment does not have the 2.4Ghz bandwidth.
You can use the wifi direct feature on your printer to connect it to the standalone network from the printer.
Kindly refer to the steps on this link connect the printer to wifi direct to print wirelessly and let me know if that resolves the issue.
