Hi @catlauder2016,

I understand your printer is not printing and the computer says it isn’t connected, even though it is powered on and connected to Wi-Fi. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Check the printer status in Devices and Printers
Open Devices and Printers and confirm the printer does not show as Offline or Paused.
If it does, right-click it and set it as Online and Default.

Confirm the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network
Check the Wi-Fi name on the printer display or network report.
Make sure it matches the Wi-Fi network your computer is using (not a guest or extender network).

Restart printer, router, and computer
Turn off the printer, restart the Wi-Fi router, then restart your computer.
Once the network is stable, turn the printer back on.

Check the printer port connection
Open Printer Properties > Ports and verify the correct port is selected.
For Wi-Fi printers, this should usually be a TCP/IP or WSD port tied to the printer’s IP address.

Remove and re-add the printer
Delete the printer from Devices and Printers.
Add it again using Add a printer or scanner so Windows rebuilds the connection.

Clear the print queue
Open the printer queue and cancel all pending print jobs.
A stuck job can make the printer appear disconnected.

Update or reinstall the printer driver
Uninstall the current printer driver and install the latest version for your printer model.
Driver issues are a common reason printers show as “not connected” when they are online.

Disable sleep or power-saving disconnects
Make sure the printer is not entering deep sleep mode.
Some networks drop the connection when the printer sleeps for long periods.

These steps usually restore communication when a printer is powered on and connected but not recognized by the computer.

I hope this helps.
