Initial message said the printer was offline - I tried all of the shutting everything down and restarting but didn't help.  Wireless test page says everything is good except there is more than one access point/router that matches my wireless network's name SSID

Hi @rjscilley,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're facing a printer offline issue, despite all components showing good status on the wireless test page, and there are multiple access points or routers with the same SSID. Follow these steps to identify and resolve the issue:

Ensure Wireless Networking is Turned On: Confirm that your computer's wireless networking has been turned on. Refer to the documentation provided with your computer if necessary.

Identify Network Connection:

  • Windows:

    • Click Start, Control Panel, then Network Connections, and View Network Status and Tasks.

    • Disconnect the power cord from the wireless router; your connection status should change to "Not Connected."

    • Reconnect the power cord; the connection status should change to "Connected."

  • Mac OS X:

    • Click the AirPort icon in the menu bar to see the connected wireless network.

    • Ensure it's connected to your intended network and not to a nearby one due to SSID conflicts.

Check Wireless Configuration:

  • Print the printer's Wireless Configuration page to verify Network Status and check URLs provided against your router-assigned network address.

  • Access the printer's Embedded Web Server to ensure the printer and computer are on the same network.

Firewall Check:

  • Ensure that firewall security software isn't blocking communication. Temporarily disable any firewall protection and attempt to access the Embedded Web Server and use the printer again.

Check Printer Status:

  • Windows:

    • Go to Devices > Printers and Scanners.
    • Right-click your printer and select "Use Printer Online" if the printer is offline.
    • If paused, right-click and select "Resume Printing."

  • Mac OS X:

    • Open System Preferences > Print & Fax.
    • Select your printer and ensure "Start Jobs" is enabled if "Jobs Stopped" appears.

Default Printer:

  • Ensure the correct version of the printer driver is set as the default by checking the printer properties under the Printers section in Control Panel.

Restart HP Network Device Support:

  • Delete any print jobs in the queue.

  • Navigate to Services and Applications, and restart the "HP Network Devices Support" service.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.
