Ok so the latest is I've connected a cable from the printer to the desktop and the computer now knows that there is a printer there and I can print out again.
However, the HP Smart (which I have uninstalled and installed again) still wants me to update the location settings (which I have) and I cannot find a work-round for a printer connected by a cable.
This means that I am still unable to scan documents
Any help anyone?
Thanks

Hi @smortime
Was HP Smart app used iin the printer setup and connect to the network?
From the conversation, it seems that nothing was done after printer reset, meaning no app was used to discover and connect the printer to the network.
Please refer to this resource on setting up with a computer;

Hope that helps!

Well I had done that and it still kept saying update locations so that the app can find the printer but as the wifi light STILL isn't on it couldn't find anything. However, on trying again just now (even though I had already tried after plugging in a cable from my computer to the printer) it now finally has found the printer.
Would love to know why the wifi on the printer isn't working though as I'd rather have it working wirelessly.

Hi @smortime
Are you able to use a mobile phone to discover and setup the printer?
Reset the wireless again and then use a mobile phone with HP Smart app to setup.
If it still cannot detect the wireless, then it's likely the WIreless on the printer is defective.
Thanks
