Hi @Richard3962,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your HP printer! Let's try to troubleshoot the issue. Here are some steps you can follow to get your printer working again.

Check the Basics:

  • Ensure the printer is turned on and has paper and ink/toner.
  • Verify that all cables are properly connected and that there are no loose connections.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart your computer and printer. Sometimes, a simple reboot can resolve connectivity issues.

Check Printer Status:

  • Make sure the printer is not showing any error messages or warnings. Check the printer’s display panel for any alerts or error codes.

Printer Queue:

  • Go to your computer’s Control Panel or Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  • Find your printer, click on it, and select “See what's printing.”
  • Clear any stuck print jobs by selecting "Cancel All Documents."

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Outdated or corrupted drivers can cause printing problems. Go to the HP Support website, find your printer model, and download the latest drivers and software.

Check Printer Settings:

  • Ensure the correct printer is selected as the default printer on your computer.
  • Verify that the printer is not set to “Offline.” You can usually change this in the printer properties menu.

Wireless Connection (if applicable):

  • If you’re using a wireless connection, check the Wi-Fi signal strength and ensure the printer and computer are on the same network.
  • Restart your router and printer to refresh the connection.

Print a Test Page:

  • Try printing a test page directly from the printer’s menu to see if the issue is with the computer or the printer itself.

HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool from the HP website. This tool can diagnose and resolve many common printing issues.

Check for Updates:

  • Make sure your operating system and printer firmware are up to date.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
