HP Officejet Pro serie 7740 All-in-one printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I switched from optic cable internet connection to an wifi connection. The printer recognises the connection, accepted (when I chose the update the printer it says that the printer is up to date), the blue sign of wireless is on. It recognises Bonjour name.but...it does not print: I receive the notification printing error. The HP smart is not working: it displays the printer as in an unknown state. Troubleshooting is telling that it did not find the printer. Next to the picture of printer is an alarm sign (a delta sign yellow with an exclamation sign in it) and a note which says Microsoft IPP class driver ???

However, it works with usb cable. But, when the printer was still in warranty, technical support helped me to use with ethernet cable, because with USB cable was not reliable (many photos where not correctly printed). So, now I would prefer to work via internet with wi-fi connection. My wifi connection is between 1MB speed, to nearly 20MB speed to download. The same for upload.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you..

I thank you very much for answering me and guiding me to solve this problem. 1.

I have a question: should I connect the USB (back slot) the printer with a cable to an USB of the PC? PC is, also, HP.

2. My wi-fi router is, always, pluged into USB of PC.

Thank you very much.

Kind regards,

Jolinar Edelweiss.

You will have to connect the printer either with WiFi or USB.

Both USB and wifi connections would not work at the same time.
