i was having issues with connecting an old hp 4500 series printer to a new arris g34 modem and router combo. i don't recommend purchasing this product, but have successfully connected the two. you have to go to the arris web interface on the arris app, witch is sketchy because they tell you it is bla bla. once there under the gateway dropdown menu, select the wi-fi dropdown menu, select networks, locate the 2.4 GHz channel of your wi-fi network. locate the edit button in the line. for me all the way to the right. select edit and change the security mode from WPA2/WPA3 Mixed to WPA2 -PSK (AES). save changes and my printer came online after using the wireless setup. hope this helps someone

Hi @hurd1891,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer's connectivity!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Open the Arris app or web interface (http://192.168.0.1).

Navigate to:
Gateway ➜ Wi-Fi ➜ Networks

Under 2.4 GHz Network, click Edit.

Change Security Mode to:
🔐 WPA2 - PSK (AES)
(not WPA3 or mixed mode!)

Save changes.

Re-run the Wireless Setup Wizard on your HP printer.

I hope this helps.

I'm gonna try this tomorrow as I have spent like 10 hours on this. And nothing will work. I even went to best buy and they think I should go back to my Netgear. Arris surfboard is not helpful at all

I did finally connect via cable so I can print fromy computer. But I need wireless. I just bought ink for my 4500 so I do not want to change printers that was working just fine withu Netgear. Ugh I really hate this.  Mo one has been any help. So I hope this works. Like I said my printer is not showing sn IP address anymore. I've done the msc thing. So hopefully again I'll try it tomorrow. Thank you. Let me know if you have any further idea s
