I keep getting "Filter" failed error message in English  on my Laserjet Pro CP1525nw

The "Filter" failed error message on your LaserJet Pro CP1525nw typically indicates a problem with the printer driver or the connection between your computer and the printer. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

1. Restart Printer and Computer

  • Turn off your printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

2. Check Printer Connection

  • Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer or network.
  • If you're using a USB connection, try a different USB port.
  • If you're using a network connection (Wi-Fi or Ethernet), make sure the printer is connected to the network correctly.

3. Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers

Windows:

  1. Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
  2. Select your printer and click on Remove device.
  3. Download the latest driver from the HP Support website for your specific printer model.
  4. Install the new driver following the on-screen instructions.

Mac:

  1. Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  2. Select your printer and click the - button to remove it.
  3. Download the latest driver from the HP Support website for your specific printer model.
  4. Install the new driver following the on-screen instructions.

4. Reset the Printing System (Mac)

  1. Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  2. Right-click (or Ctrl-click) in the Printers list and select Reset printing system....
  3. Confirm the reset.
  4. Re-add your printer by clicking the + button and selecting your printer.

5. Clear Print Queue

Windows:

  1. Open the Control Panel and go to Devices and Printers.
  2. Right-click your printer and select See what's printing.
  3. In the print queue window, select Printer and click on Cancel All Documents.

Mac:

  1. Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  2. Select your printer and click on Open Print Queue.
  3. Click on Printer and select Cancel All Documents.

6. Check for Firmware Updates

  • Go to the HP Support website and check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model.
  • Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.
