@timrobertsusa, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Here's how you can reset the username and password on your HP Color LaserJet Pro M254dw printer:
Reset Printer Username and Password (Factory Reset)
If you've forgotten the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS) password or want to reset all settings:
Steps to Restore Factory Defaults:
On the Printer Control Panel:
- Tap the Home button (if not already on the home screen).
- Go to Setup (gear icon).
- Navigate to Service > Restore Defaults.
- Confirm the reset when prompted.
After Reset:
- The printer will restart.
- You’ll need to reconnect it to your Wi-Fi and reconfigure any custom settings.
Accessing the Embedded Web Server (EWS) After Reset
Once the printer is back online:
- Print a Network Configuration Page from the printer's control panel.
- Open a browser and enter the printer’s IP address (from the config page).
- You can now access the EWS without a password (default state).
- Set a new Administrator password under:
- Security > Administrator Settings.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
