Hello, I purchased the printer yesterday and have spent hours trying to get the printer to scan to google drive. I previously had a similar multi function Brother printer and I could do it straight from the printers control panel. I have downloaded the smart hp software onto my PC and phone. It seems to want a network drive and rejects my google drive url. Any advice or help appreciated. I have been able to scan to email so that's a start, but sometimes takes ages to arrive in the email.
When using the web services menu on the printer control panel I get a message "Access Denied. The service may be busy. retry later..."
cheers
Garj

Hi,
One option would be the Google Drive app which can be installed from the HPSmart.com site and can be used from teh Apps menu on the printer:
https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04707081
Another alternative would be installing the HP full Feature Software, follow HP Easy Start by selecting the HP Full Feature Software option within the Software Selection screen and complete the installation:
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/COL96741/HPEasyStart_13_0_6.exe
Once completing the installation open the HP Color Laserjet Pro M28X software and click on Scan a Document or Photo.
Select Everyday Scanning and then click on More >
Open the Destination tab and from within he Send To menu select GoogleDrive, then click Configure to configure your Google Account and save the changes, then scan using the Everyday Scan shortcut:

Thank you for the comments.
I did have the printer name slightly wrong I can confirm it is a MFP M283fdw.
I had installed the full software suite mentioned, when I go to Scan, and then "scan a document or photo" I get an error message. HP SCAN - The HP LJ M282M285 was not found.
The Apps Menu on the printer says "Access denied. The service may be busy. Retry later..."

Thanks for clarifying.
For the HP Scan problem, try following the steps below:
From the search bar type CMD, right-click on Command-Line and select Run as Administrator, be sure to confirm any prompt by pressing Yes.
Past the following command and press enter:
Sc config stisvc depend= rpcss/ShellHWDetection
Now restart your computer and try scanning, may you see any difference?
For the Apps problem, please make sure the latest firmware is installed for the printer as listed below:

You may download the latest HP Firmware Update Utility for your printer using below link directly:

Thanks again.
I had been able to print and scan to google from a mobile device but not from the printers control panel. I just get the "Access denied service may be busy. retry later" message.
I have checked the firmware is up to date.
I gat the same message "access denied..."if I go into any eprint menu items or the Apps menu item from the printer control panel.
Thanks again guys for the suggestions
I have followed the instructions below.
