Hi @EZEBabies,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
If your HP DeskJet 2842e All-in-One Printer is showing a blinking power button and your Windows 11 laptop says it's offline, here’s how to fix it:
1. Restart Everything
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Restart your laptop and Wi-Fi router.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
2. Check the Power Button Light
- A blinking power light usually means the printer is in an error state or updating firmware.
- Wait a few minutes to see if it stops blinking.
- If it continues, press and hold the power button for 5 seconds to reset.
3. Check Wi-Fi Connection
- Make sure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your laptop.
- The Wi-Fi light on the printer should be solid blue.
- If it’s blinking or off, reconnect the printer to Wi-Fi using the HP Smart App.
4. Use the HP Smart App to Diagnose
- Download or open the HP Smart App for Windows: HP Smart - Free download and install on Windows | Microsoft Store.
- Use the “Diagnose & Fix” tool:
- Open the app.
- Click the wrench icon (bottom left).
- Follow the on-screen steps.
5. Set Printer Online in Windows
- Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
- Click your printer > Open print queue.
In the menu, uncheck “Use Printer Offline” if it’s selected.
I hope this helps.
Take care, and have an amazing day!
