Hi @PatriciaKalenck,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Easy Scan Connection Issues on Mac OS 15.5 (Sequoia)!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Update HP Easy Scan:
- Ensure that you have the latest version of the HP Easy Scan app. Check the Mac App Store for updates and install the latest version available.
Update Printer Drivers:
- Visit the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page and download the latest software and drivers for your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M281. Install any new updates available specifically tailored for macOS 15.5.
Remove and Re-add the Printer:
- Go to "System Preferences" > "Printers & Scanners" on your Mac.
- Select the HP LaserJet Pro MFP M281 from the list and click the minus (-) button to remove it.
- Click the plus (+) button to re-add the printer. Ensure that you select the printer with "Bonjour" shared as its name.
Reset Printing System:
- If the issue persists, consider resetting the printing system:
- In "Printers & Scanners", right-click in the list of devices on the left.
- Select "Reset printing system..." and confirm your action. This will remove all printers, and you'll need to add them again.
Verify Firewall Settings:
- Ensure that your firewall settings are not blocking the HP Easy Scan application. Go to "System Preferences" > "Security & Privacy" > "Firewall" and make sure HP Easy Scan is allowed.
Use Image Capture:
- As an alternative, try using the built-in "Image Capture" application in macOS to see if it can detect and use the scanner.
HP Smart App:
- Consider using the HP Smart app, which may have better support for newer macOS versions. You can find it on the Mac App Store.
I hope this helps.
