Hi @Bill1237,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're having trouble connecting your HP Photosmart C3135 printer to your new HP Desktop Tower, follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Check Printer Connections
- Power and Cables:
- Ensure the printer is plugged in and turned on.
- Check that the USB cable (if using a wired connection) is securely connected to both the printer and the computer.
- If using a network connection, make sure the printer is connected to your Wi-Fi network and that the computer is on the same network.
2. Install or Update Printer Drivers
Download Latest Drivers:
- Visit the HP Support website.
- Search for your HP Photosmart C3135 and download the latest drivers compatible with your operating system.
Install Drivers:
- Run the downloaded driver installer and follow the on-screen instructions to install the drivers.
Restart Computer:
- After installation, restart your computer to ensure the drivers are fully integrated.
3. Add the Printer to Your Computer
Open Printer Settings:
- On Windows, go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
- Click Add a printer or scanner.
Select Printer:
- If the printer appears in the list, select it and follow the prompts to complete the setup.
- If it doesn't appear, click The printer that I want isn't listed, and follow the steps to manually add the printer.
4. Check Printer Status
Check for Errors:
- Ensure there are no error messages or warnings on the printer's display.
- Check for paper jams, low ink, or other issues.
Print a Test Page:
- From the Printers & scanners settings, select your printer, click Manage, and choose Print a test page to verify that the printer is functioning correctly.
5. Verify Printer Compatibility
- Check Compatibility:
- Ensure that the HP Photosmart C3135 is compatible with your operating system version. It may be an older model that might not have updated drivers for newer OS versions.
6. Use HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Download HP Print and Scan Doctor:
- Go to the HP Print and Scan Doctor website.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
