I'm unable to connect my HP Photosmart 7525 printer to my new TMOBILE wireless network. Every time I tried entering my network password it wont connect and says that it may be a MAC address filtering problem. I already tried support from TMOBILE and tried adding another Network w/ more Megahurtz 2.5; that didn't work either. I need help on reconnecting my printer as it was working fine with the previous Internet provider.

@Siegestar, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Let’s get your HP Photosmart 7525 back online with your new T-Mobile network. Here's a step-by-step guide to help:

Step 1: Check the Wi-Fi Band

Your HP Photosmart 7525 only supports 2.4GHz, and some T-Mobile gateways default to 5GHz or a combined 2.4/5GHz SSID, which can cause connection failures.
Fix:

  • Log into your T-Mobile gateway's settings (via app or browser).
  • Split the SSID names for 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands.
  • Assign a unique name to the 2.4GHz network (e.g., HomeWiFi_2.4).
  • Try connecting your printer to the 2.4GHz-specific SSID.

Step 2: Disable MAC Address Filtering (or Add the Printer)

Your error message mentions MAC filtering. This means your T-Mobile router might be blocking the printer.
Fix:

  1. Log into your T-Mobile Gateway settings.
  2. Navigate to Advanced > Network > MAC Filtering.
  3. Turn MAC filtering OFF temporarily to test.
  4. If you prefer to keep it on, find your printer’s MAC address:
    • On the printer: Go to Settings > Network > View Network Summary.
    • Then, manually add that MAC address to the router’s allowed list.

Step 3: Re-run Wireless Setup Wizard on the Printer

  1. On the printer, go to Setup > Network > Wireless Setup Wizard.
  2. Let it search for available networks.
  3. Select your 2.4GHz network.
  4. Enter the Wi-Fi password carefully (watch out for case sensitivity).
  5. If it still fails, proceed to the next step.

Step 4: Assign a Static IP (Optional)

Some users have had success with static IP assignments.
Fix:

  • In your router settings, assign a static IP address to the printer’s MAC address.
  • Then on the printer, manually set that IP:
    • Go to Setup > Network > Advanced Settings > IP Settings.
    • Enter the IP, subnet (usually 255.255.255.0), and gateway (your router IP).

Step 5: Firmware Update (if you can temporarily connect)

If you're ever able to temporarily connect it to another network (like a hotspot), use that opportunity to:

  • Update the firmware via Setup > Web Services > Product Updates

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
