HP9015, changed my local network name and password but cannot get into printer settings to make the change; appears control panel has been locked and I do not recall UN and password for the printer. How to get around this?

Hi @Afa49,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand the control panel on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 is locked and you don't recall the username (UN) and password, here are some steps you can try to regain access:
Reset to Factory Settings:
- Power Cycle: Turn off the printer, unplug it, wait for about a minute, and then plug it back in and turn it on. This sometimes resets minor issues.
- Factory Reset via Hardware Buttons:
- With the printer on, press and hold the Cancel and Wireless buttons simultaneously until the printer's control panel turns off and then on again.
- Wait for the printer to reboot and see if it prompts you to set up a new password or allows you to access the settings.
Access the Printer via HP Smart App:
- If the printer is still connected to your network, you might be able to use the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device to change settings or reset the network configuration.
- Open the HP Smart app and look for options related to network settings or printer setup. You might be able to update the network information from there.
Access Printer Settings via Web Interface:
- If the printer is connected to the network, try accessing it through a web browser:
- Find the printer’s IP address by printing a network configuration page from the printer's control panel.
- Enter the IP address into your web browser’s address bar.
- If prompted, enter the default username and password (usually admin and admin, or check the printer's manual for defaults).
- Navigate to the network settings and update your local network name and password.
Default Password Reset:
- If none of the above methods work, you may need to perform a hard reset. This process involves physically resetting the printer by removing the power cord and allowing the device to fully power down before plugging it back in. Check the printer's manual for specific instructions.
