Welcome to the HP Community --

This is one of those subjects where the details depend on the printer model.

In most cases, the basics can be found in the printer's user manual.

Reference

Open > Printer Product Home

Select printer model

Open Category Manuals > Find and open User Guide

Read the chapter section on Scan and / or look for key words, for example, "to network"

Scan to Network Folder - Digital Send feature

The next consideration is whether the printer model supports Scan to Network Folder as a Digital Send feature.

Example -- a well known OfficeJet Pro model --

Digital Sending Standard FeaturesScan-to E-mail; Scan to network folder; Scan to SharePoint; Scan to thumb drive

If the feature is supported in the Embedded Web Server (EWS), the setup depends on the type of EWS format.

EWS > HP Document / How-to (InkJet Printers – Original Format)

Use the HP printer Embedded Web Server (EWS)

NOTE:  Find printer IP address

Section Open the EWS over a local network orientation

OR

HP Laser Printers - Using the Printer Embedded Web Server (EWS)

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Reminder - PIN

If asked enter the printer’s PIN number – the default number is generally located on the back or inside the printer.

EWS - Scan to Network Folder

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Scan > Scan to Network Folder > Network Folder Setup

OR – Alternate Format EWS

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Section Scan > Scan to Network Folder (Job Defaults)

and

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Section Quick Sets > Add / Edit / Copy / Delete Quick Set Profile
