Hi @Doe6,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
We understand that your HP ENVY 5055 All-in-One Printer was functioning correctly for a month, but now you're encountering issues where the printer appears offline, and upon attempting to reinstall it on your Mac, you're receiving a message stating that the printer's warranty has expired.
Let's address both concerns:
1. Printer Appears Offline
The "printer offline" status can occur due to various reasons, such as network connectivity issues or driver conflicts. To resolve this:
- Ensure Same Network Connection: Verify that both your Mac and the printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Note that the HP ENVY 5055 supports only 2.4GHz networks.
- Reset the Printing System on Mac:
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Right-click (or Control-click) in the printer list and select Reset printing system.
- Confirm the reset and re-add your printer.
- Update Printer Firmware: Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date by visiting the HP ENVY 5055 All-in-One Printer Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support page and entering your printer model.
2. Warranty Expired Message During Reinstallation
Receiving a "warranty expired" message during printer setup is unusual and may be related to HP's Instant Ink service or account settings.
To address this:
- Check HP Account Status: Log in to your HP account to verify if your printer is associated with any services like Instant Ink that might affect its operation.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
