Hello fellow techs!
I have a user who uses an HP printer with Instant Ink subscription. That user and her printer are behind a very restrictive firewall. Every once in a while the printer tries to contact some HP server to refresh Instant Ink status. It fails and the printer stops printing until I connect it to the Internet using my phone's hotspot. Please let me know what's the address and what are the protocols and port numbers we need to ask out firewall folks to open for this printer's Instant Ink feature to work.
Thank you!

Hi @Igor_S,
Welcome to the HP Support Community
I understand you are facing an issue with Instant Ink Server. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.
To assist better:
- I would like to know if you are using any VPN?
- Is the blue light solid on the printer?
While you respond to that, check the connectivity between the printer and the PC
- Obtain the IP address of the printer – You can touch the “wireless” icon on the printer control panel to obtain the IP address.
- Type the IP address at the top of your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.
- If you get any security notification, click on show details and 'proceed to this website.
- Go to Tools and print a Test page.
Note: If you are able to access the EWS page of the printer on your browser, it means the connectivity is fine.
Also, go to your Instant Ink account page and check for any errors.
If the firewall is blocking the printer, you will have to set an exception for the printer or the printer's IP address. Contact your System administrator or Firewall support to know how.
If MAC filtering is enabled in your router, make sure the printer is in the 'Allowed' list.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
