I am having trouble printing a PDF in its entirety. In a 12-page document, sometimes the last few pages list only every other line of the text. The print box shows the complete text, but it does not print that way

Hi @dmorator,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

This issue could be due to several factors, such as printer settings, driver issues, or the way the PDF file is formatted. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.

Check Printer Settings

  • Quality Settings: Ensure that the print quality is set to high or best quality.
  • Paper Type: Make sure the paper type setting matches the paper you are using.

Update Printer Drivers

  • Update Drivers: Ensure that your printer drivers are up to date. You can download the latest drivers from the HP website.
  • Reinstall Drivers: Sometimes, reinstalling the printer drivers can resolve issues.

Check PDF File

  • Open in Another Reader: Try opening and printing the PDF using a different PDF reader (e.g., Adobe Acrobat Reader, Foxit Reader).
  • Recreate the PDF: If you have access to the source document, try recreating the PDF file.

Print as Image

  • Print as Image: In Adobe Acrobat Reader, you can try printing the PDF as an image. This can sometimes resolve printing issues with complex PDFs.
    1. Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
    2. Go to File > Print.
    3. Click on Advanced and select Print as Image.

Check for Firmware Updates

  • Printer Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer and install them.

Print in Smaller Batches

  • Divide Pages: If the issue persists, try printing the document in smaller batches (e.g., 1-6, 7-12) to see if it helps.

Use a Different Printer

  • Test on Another Printer: If possible, try printing the document on a different printer to determine if the issue is specific to your printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
