Just got a new printer. I'm having problems with the install. The printer goes to sleep within 15 minutes. The Wi-Fi button will not stay on. I keep getting the error message that my printer is not connected to the internet. I can not print documents using Wi-Fi. I can print documents using a usb cable. I gone the uninstall reinstall software. Reset my router multiple times. The ai chat has not been helpful. I'm thinking about just returning this printer.

Ensure Basic Connectivity


Placement:

  • Avoid physical obstructions like walls or large metal objects between your router and printer.


Wi-Fi Button:
 

  • Confirm that the Wi-Fi button on your printer is enabled and not showing any error indicators.


Printer and Network Configuration


Manual Wi-Fi Setup:
 

  • Consider setting up the Wi-Fi connection manually through the printer's control panel, ensuring you enter the correct network SSID and password.


Network Configuration Report:
 

  • Print a network configuration page to verify that the printer's network settings are correct.


Software and Firmware


Update Printer Firmware:
 

  • Download and install any available firmware updates for your printer to ensure optimal functionality. You can usually find these updates on https://support.hp.com/us-en.

Power and Sleep Settings
