Hi @dbaldwi1

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It’s frustrating when a printer suddenly loses connection despite no changes to hardware or software. Since your HP DeskJet 2852e was working fine before, let's go through some steps to restore the connection.

1. Restart Everything

  • Power off your printer, router, and computer.
  • Wait 30 seconds, then turn on the router first.
  • Once the router is fully online, turn on the printer and computer.

2. Reset Printer Network Settings

  • On the printer’s control panel, press and hold the Wireless button and Cancel button together for three seconds.
  • This will restore the network settings to default.
  • Reconnect the printer to Wi-Fi using the HP Smart app.

3. Check Router Settings

  • Ensure your router is set to 2.4GHz (some HP printers struggle with 5GHz).
  • Disable MAC address filtering (if enabled).
  • Try switching the Wi-Fi security mode to WPA2 instead of WPA3.

4. Reinstall the Printer

  • Open SettingsDevicesPrinters & Scanners.
  • Remove the printer and restart your computer.
  • Add the printer again using Add a Printer or Scanner.

5. Update Printer Firmware

Let me know if any of these steps help! I appreciate your patience while we work through this.
