@Seancam67, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding How to Reset a Wireless Locked HP Printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If you need to reset your HP printer's wireless settings because it was locked during setup, follow these instructions to perform a reset:

Step 1: Restore Network Settings

Touchscreen Printers:

  • Navigate to your printer's Home screen and touch the Wireless icon or open the Wireless Settings menu.
  • Select "Restore Network Settings" or "Restore Network Defaults."

Non-Touchscreen Printers:

  • Print a Network Configuration Page to obtain the IP address. This can often be done by pressing the Wireless button and the Information button simultaneously.
  • Access your printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS) through a web browser using the IP address.
  • Locate the “Wireless” or “Network” settings and choose “Restore Network Settings” or “Restore Network Defaults.”

Step 2: Perform a Factory Reset

  1. Turn off the Printer: Press the Power button to turn off the printer.
  2. Unplug the Printer: Disconnect the power cord from the printer and from the power source.
  3. Wait: Leave the printer unplugged for about a minute.
  4. Reconnect: Plug the power cord back into the printer and into the power source.
  5. Turn on the Printer: Press the Power button to power on the printer.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
