Hi Andrewbono,
Thank you again for the reply!
I would need to know which type of smartphone/operating system (Android, iOS, etc.) you have to find out if that's a possibility, and as I stated before, you can't set the black ink only permanently via ePrint.
If you want to set the printer to automatically print on both sides everytime, you can do so in the same screen where you got to set the Black Ink Only setting. You would want to set the Print on Both sides drop down. I will look into seeing if that's a possibility from the smartphone or ePrint, when I know which phone/operating system you have.
Have a great weekend!

Hi Andrewbono,
For your iPhone, if you're using AirPrint (selecting Print from the functions and selecting the printer) you should see a 2-sided option right there if you're selecting the Officejet 8600.
When printing from the ePrint app, please follow the screen shot below to see where to select the 2-sided/duplex option.
Let me know if this is what you were looking for 🙂

Hi Andrewbono,
That's good to hear! When using the AirPrint feature to print on your iPhone, there is no option to print in black ink only. This function doesn't offer a lot of choices, so if you're wanting to do the black ink only, make sure to use the ePrint app on your phone.
Have a great day!!
