Hi-
I use an HP Photosmart C4280 and run OSX 10.9.4. My computer keeps telling me the printer is not connected (I have checked the power and USB connection and both are good). When I go to add the printer in teh system preferences no choices show up. Can I/How do I reinstall teh printer driver?

Hello amemoli, and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I see you are experiencing connectivity issues. I would like to help.
I would suggest deleting the printer from your print system, using this document: Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Once you have deleted it, I would suggest verifying and repairing the disk permissions: About Disk Utility's Repair Disk Permissions feature.
I would also suggest running your Apple updates: OS X: Updating OS X and Mac App Store apps
After the updates, I would recommend readding the printer, using this document on OS X v10.9 Mavericks: Installing and Using the Printer on a Mac.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

Hi
I have the same issue. I am running Mac OS Yosemite 10.10.1.
All worked fine until yesterday. Now it says the printer is not connected to the computer. When I go into the settings, it does not find my wireless network/router. When I enter it manually, it says it failed. I know the network name and password is correct. Please help.

Answer to Jamieson: I'm having the same problem: Being told my computer is not connected. The solution should be for an OS X Yosemite, version 10.10.2. Can you help. If not please tell me how I can onnect by telephone to an HP rep for a walk through, as I have to have very simple instructions. I have been accustomed to a Windows XP, and this MacBook Pro and I don't seem compatible.

Hello @helene74 and @cwchia , and welcome to the HP Forums!
I would recommend powering down your computer, disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, and remove the power from your router for 60 seconds.
After 60 seconds, plug the router back in. Once the router has begun broadcasting, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
After the printer is on, re-run the wireless setup.
I'd also suggest this document:
