Hi @learmedic ,
I would recommend utilizing this document on Wireless printing center Troubleshooting Issues.
Please keep me posted.

Okay, I would love to follow all those directions but like I said Im locked out of the settings on the printer. I can't access anything in the settings menu. It says its been locked by the systme admin or the person that set it up. Funny thing is, Im both of those people and I didn't lock out anything. How can I unlock the settings so I can make the changes?
Thanks
Dave

Hello Dave,
I would recommend downloading and running the HP Print and Scan Doctor. This should give you the printers IP address.
Use the printers IP address and this document on Accessing the HP Embedded Web Server, to access the tools tab and turn off the administrator lock.
Please let me know how it goes.

I'm having the exact same problem.
HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Premium
Mac OS X 10.9.4
I had to change my internet server in my office, and gave it a new name. When I went into the OfficeJet screen to update it, it would not let me, "this featuer has been locked by administrator" (that's me) and I don't recall ever saying "Lock this."
When I print the printer's network configuration, the IP address says "Not applicable"
Even resetting back to the default is "locked by administrator". My printer will no longer work in my office. HP will let me pay for a support session, which I will not. This is not good. How is this to be fixed?
Thank you Jamieson and others for any help you can provide.

I fixed it on mine by doing the following:
1 - On the screen on the printer scroll and press set up. Scroll down and press preferences. Change your keyboard setting to AZERTY. (odd solution, but it worked)
2 - I was then able to choose the option to "Reset to factory defaults."
3 - Then I could run Wireless Wizard and re-select the server
Good luck

Why can't an HP person answer this simple question. I am having the same problem with you regarding new network router and error message on my printer saying my features are locked by system administrator. I'm trying to reconfigure and can't. I printed out network configuration page, and there is NO PRINTER IP ADDRESS LISTED. Why does this HP printer have to such problems!!
