I ran into a problem last week while trying to scan with my hp psc 2210.  Couldn't open HP Director and ended up uninstalling the software.  While reinstalling, I received the following error message:

Error 1904.Module

c:\windows\sysWOW64\hpgwiamd.dll failed to

register HRESULT -2147024770.  Contact your

support personnel

I have deleted all my temp files and have tried to reinstall a couple of times and still get the same error message.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That is awesome! My grandpa worked for NASA too (one of the reasons I ended up getting a minor in physics)!

If you would like a good all-in-one I would suggest something like the 6700 Premium. Its moderately priced, really efficient, easily maintained and has all the functions you would ever want out of a printer. It's very reliable, and I have used one.

And thank you too for your patience and diligence. I wish that we could have gotten this fixed.

To start, it looks like you are having a communication problem, but to let you know looking at this it does look like this might be an Microsoft error message. I am gong to first suggest that we uninstall and reinstall the software onto the machine.

First if you use a USB cord, make sure to remove it. Do not plug it back in until the software directs you to. Then go through the Devices and Printers, Programs and Features and Device Manager folders and insure that all copies, files, and programs related to the printer are removed. Then as directed, restart the computer.

In the START menu type "%temp%" and press ENTER. Here I want you to press Ctrl+A and hit DELETE. Some of the files will not allow you to delete them, skip those files and delete the majority that allows it.

Then follow this link to download the full feature software and drivers for the printer:

Install that and let me know the result!

Have a great day!

AlwaysNeon,

Thanks for the reply.  The link you directed me to is for the Deskjet 3510 e printer and not the psc 2210.  Did you mean to do that?

Sorry, Pat, I don't know why it mislinked there, but I have fixed it.

AlwaysNeon,

I get the message "install the driver using windows update with a USB connection (downloadable driver not available)".  What do I do at this point?  I selected "how do I make sure I always have the latest Windows 7 in-OS driver" and followed those directions but I'm not sure that's what needs to be done.  I also checked out "what can I do when driver installation failed".  When I got to the end of these instructions, the psc 2200 series printer wasn't listed.  I'm lost.  I think I need some serious help.

Thanks.

I would perform a windows update, and make sure that any software related to the printer is removed from the computer (while keeping the printer unplugged from the computer). Then restart the computer and plug the printer in, Windows should be able to automatically install the plug and play (PnP) drivers.

Try that, Pat, and let me know how it goes!

HP Recommended

What do you mean by "perform a windows update?"  From where?

HP Recommended

In your start menu, type "Windows Update." It should refresh and incorporate all the latest MS drivers if you do not have the most current ones.

AlwaysNeon,

Thanks but that didn't work.  I got the following error:

Device driver software was not successfully installed

Hewlett-PackardPSC 2200 Series    No driver found

HP Recommended

Try this method for selecting an alternate driver and see if that will give you functionality.
