I used to be able to scan to computer and then about 4 months ago it won't connect to the printers web address. I am able to scan to email with no problems. Just a little bit of a pain the but do to it making each page its own document. I have reset the printer to it's factory defaults and refound the network. It is connected to my google account. I am using a HP Chromebook 14.
Here are the details of my printer:

Hello @lhosey,
Thanks for getting back to us!
If you are unable to access the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS) by entering the IP address, it sounds like there is some kind of firewall or security on your router that is blocking communication between devices. Are you using your own personal network at home, or working on a business network?
I suggest trying a Network Power Reset. Let's leave the router on and unplug the power cable (NOTE: Do not reset the router.), then do the same with the printer, and shut down the computer. After a full minute, plug the router back in, wait for it to fully power up, then plug the printer back in and wait for the wireless light to become solid. Once both the router and printer are on, go ahead and turn the computer back on. Doing this will refresh the network connection.
Try accessing the printer's IP address again using the Google Chrome browser on your Chromebook. If it's still unable to see the printer, you may need to contact your Internet Service Provider.
You mentioned to @DocCottle, that you were trying to scan to computer, not to e-mail. Were you using some sort of app to do this? (Because Chrome OS is not a full operating system, there is no drivers available, just curious if you are using some sort of third party app that is allowing you to scan).
I look forward to hearing back from you, and working towards a resolution for this issue.

Hey @lhosey,
Welcome to the HP forums! I hope you enjoy your stay here.
I understand that you are having some issues with Scanning from your printer to your Chromebook. I can certainly help you with that, but I'm not sure which printer you have. If you could let me know what the printer says on its front side then I'll be better able to help you out.

Alright, here's what we will do:
- On the printer click on the web services icon in the top left corner of the display screen.
- Click on Settings.
- Scroll down to and click on Remove Web Services.
- From the main screen click on the web services icon again.
- Click on Accept and Yes.
- Try Scan to Email.
Just a note that as you are a Chromebook user your printer's ePrint address will have changed, so you may need to add the printer to your Chromebook again.
I hope this helps!

Aye, the Chromebook does not handle scanning very well, which is one reason why I suggested Scan to Email instead. If Scan to Email works then you can email documents to yourself (and Chromebook by extension).
The other way to scan would be to do the following (which I do not suggest, but is doable):
- Makes sure the
- On the printer click on the wireless icon that looks like a radio tower.
- Note the printer's IP Address.
- On your Chromebook in the browser's Address Bar type the printer's IP Address exactly as it appears on the printer.
- On this page click on the Scan tab along the top. You may need to click on the Settings tab and then Preferences to Enable Web Scan first.
- This page will allow you to scan an image from the printer. I am not sure how you would save the image to your Chromebook once it is scanned as that tends to vary by Chromebook manufacturer and model.
I hope this helps!
