HP LaserJet 1100 doesn't work on Windows 10 Home and Pro x64 version
Driver HP LaserJet (MS) installed perfectly but it's an Error when trying to pring from any application.
Any diagnostics do not helped with this issue. I tried to delete printer and add it manually. Nothing help.
I checked this printer with Windows 7, 8.1 and Ubuntu OS - all works fine.
Seems to be that issue appeared in latest windows builds . Because in Windows 10 build 10240 there wasn't any problem.

I found the exact same thing. Our old 1100 has been plodding along for years. Worked fine on Me, XP, 7, 8, 8.1, and first release of 10. Installed major Win Update last week -- No more 1100. No way am I putting the old horse out to pasture without a fight. Have contacted HP, waiting to hear back. Will advise as I find out more.
Tried the HP download helpers - they don't even know that there is such a thing as a parallel port. Phooey.

The problem really is massive.
10240 On Windows, it works well.
After installing Windows 10586 an error print.
Reinstalling the driver, with complete removal of the device does not solve the problem.
Please check with Microsoft to support the driver Windows 10586.

Spent two hours on chat last night with Win Tech, she tried a few things (nothing I hadn't already tried) and referred me to HP. I have, with faint hope, ordered an adaptor cord USB to Parallel from Amazon. For $10, what the hey.

Spent an hour and a half on the phone today with an HP tech doing a remote session on my machine. No luck. Tried drivers for other printers, for PCL. No sale. Sure hope that USB to Parallel wire does the job... but, drivers..... ??????

Hi everyone, I have posted a question with this issue on Russian MS forum and had and answer:
Support team:
"The problem is relevant and is massive.
I will try to "push" the question above. But I can not promise anything. Since the printer is old enough, it may be that the manufacturer deliberately did not want to keep the device more than to buy new ones."
and later:
"Unfortunately, this issue will not be solved.
This will happen only if the problem attains very widespread."
So i offer to everyone to create themes on MS Support forums - to make this issue "very widespread"
Also you can ask you friends to help with creating the same tickets:smileywink:

On my 1100ASE from a new Dell 8900 with Win10, since the November updates, I am using the (MS) driver for general printing from WPS Office, Notepad, Wordpad and generally all I've tried successfully.
The only hitch I've found as with the XP systems I have several of, the MS drivers lack all the ASE functions and particularly to my needs, the Duplexer operations. This can be done at cost of labor, by sending the print using the Manual Input Bin and personal page swapping.

I'm in the same boat - upgraded to Windows 10 and now my LaserJet 1100 doesn't work. It's connected via LPT1 port, shows up as an option, I tried updating the driver but it said I have the most current and up-to-date driver installed. I went through all of the suggestions on every website I could find, but still get an error when trying to print.
I work from home so this is a major inconvenience. Even though it's an older printer, it's still in great shape. I know that money drives everything, but it's such a shame, especially from an environmental perspective, to have to put a printer out to pasture when it still works great. I also recently bought new printer cartridges for the printer. It shouldn't take HP that long to create a new driver, I mean really, do the right thing here.

I have the same problem that I have an excelent HP laserjet 1100 printer but it does not work anymore after the upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10
This is very bad.
Now i have to put away my very good working printer and i must buy a new one when i want to print again, or I have to replace Windows 7.
i do'nt know yet what to do.
