Hey @camwine,
Thank you for posting in the HP Support Forum. :robothappy:
I understand you're having a cardstock feed issue with your HP Officejet 4630 e-All-in-One Printer. I would like to assist you with this.
I recommend you try the following:
Perform a 'hard reset':
1. Press the Power button to turn off the printer.
2. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
3. Wait 60 seconds.
4. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
5. Press the Power button to turn on the printer.
Next, if the printer still won't pick cardstock continue on as directed:
- Open the ADF cover.Figure : Open the ADF cover
- Lightly moisten a clean, lint-free cloth with distilled, filtered, or bottled water.
CAUTION:
Do not use tap water or alcohol. Alcohol can dry out rollers. Tap water contains impurities that can damage rollers.Press the cloth against the roller while rotating it with your fingers. Apply a moderate amount of pressure to remove dust or dirt buildup.Figure : Example of the parts on an ADF- ADF cover

- Separator pad
- Clean the separator pad using the same cloth.
- Firmly close the ADF cover.
- Try using the ADF again.
Additionally, click here for more information on configuring your printer's settings in Windows. Make sure that you have selected the appropriate paper type when working with speciality paper types/envelopes/cardstock.
Please let me know the result of your troubleshooting by responding to this post. I hope this helps.
Have a great day! 🙂

I did not call HP support, as I started looking around the web and found that the card stock I was using does not work in this particular printer. The only thing I can think of, as why it worked before was perhaps when the printer was new it was not as sensitive to the weight. (Maybe the card stock I had before was a lighter stock.) I am not sure. I plan to buy a ream of lighter card stock to see if that will work.
