I am having the same issue.  So frustrating.  Help forum suggested removing the printhead assembly and soaking it in hot water for 10 minutes, but this model has a non-removable printhead, so that's not an option.   My printer is no longer under warranty.  How do I get it serviced?

I am having the very same issue.  Our warranty has expired but we haven't had the printer very long.  We have tried all the instructions the others in this post have tried and nothing is working.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

I suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. If you are calling within North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, click here: click here.

I realize that your printers are not longer in warranty. I still suggest that you contact an HP Representative anyway. If your issue is one that can not be resolved, an HP Representative will be able to check to see if you qualify for the Trade In Trade UP option.

HP does NOT repair or service printers.  If the unit was in warranty and the issue could not be resolved by troubleshooting, a replacement would be issued.

The only other option for you if you did not want to call HP is to see if you could find a local repair shop that is not affiliated with HP.

I hope this information is helpful.

Thank you for your time.

Hello 88H,

I see that this is your first visit with us on the HP Forums.  Please let me take a moment to say "Welcome".

I see that you are having the same issue as the previous person.  If you have attempted all the troubleshooting that I have outlined to do, I then suggest that you contact HP Total care as I suggested in my previous response.

Thank you for you time.

Have a great weekend.:smileyhappy:

Not sure if HP just found a  solution or not, but when I clicked on the printer in my control panel, it indicated that there was a software update.  As soon as I loaded it, I was able to print again after all my failed attempts to apply the fixes HP suggested online.   Anyone who is having the same problem might want to try that.

There are 4 chips inside the printhead which are coloured blue. There seems to a problem with the legs on the chips which break giving the "print head problem" messages. It does not appear to a problem if the chips are coloured black. The only reasonable solution is to change the print head.

I have  same  problem  with this issue   unfortunatlly    mine said contact  HP  which i did    kept telling tech.  my problem   was with the printer   not the computer     he insisted   this was because my computor  was  hacked  and someone  already had all my   personnel info    this would cost  me approx. $300.   plus $99.00 for virus protection.

I told him i don't have  that kind of money   so  he offered to help me  for  $199.00  amd assured me  all would be solve and printer  would be  back to working ok.  it should take him  45min.    This Tech. too  4hrs  and   nothing got  fixed  and I am out of $300.     he transfer me to another tech which suppose  to kinow better   only for him  to  tell me  other tech was wrong   computor was not hacked   and it was the printed that  was broke that i should just buy a new computor.

believe me   i was raving  mad   so  becareful   maybe best  go buy another printer  so you don't be taken  like I was

honestly  i have never   had any  problem like this with HP services     I assume    I just got a    bad tech  that   just wanted to make a   sale

i could have just bought me a new printer    with that  money

I believe HP subcontracts its tech svc. That's why I never call them ... They don't really want to solve your problem-- just take your money. Suggest u call HP Cust svc and tell them what happened. They may be willing to trade ur bad printer for a refurbished one that works.

Thanks for your  reply     it is so hard to get in contact with customer service  their recorder message always says  they will return the call     and  finally after  2 days i got a call today when i wasn't home and had no info with me    she was suppose to call me back in   2hrs after  and it's already     10 hours after and i'm still waiting.    too bad because all this  bad service   reflex  on   HP       I've dealed  with HP products  and service for many years  and i have never   been  jilted  out of money  for services  not rendered      now all I want to know     adding printheads are going to fix  my problem     before  i  go purchase a new printer
