HP PSC 750 all in one
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This printer error problem is driving me crazy. I have dissabled printer, unplugged it, upgraded software, used HP scan doctor which told me my USB port was incorrect (even though I have been using that port since I got my new Dell desk top). Rebooted my computer when asked to by HP Scan Doctor, which than said it couln't help.

HP now knows my operating system and HP PSC 750 printer that I am using. My problem is if I select Printer 'trouble shoot' the HP software detects the problem and fixes it. On printing again I may or may not get a full print of my document before the the print error comes back. Its extremely frustrating trying to print my documents that never get completed. Its only happened since installing windows 10. Windows XP, 7 and 8 were never a problem.

I see after HP got my device details that there is no support for my printer on windows 10, on a 64 -bit operating system.

So what next???

Hi @kazbo,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

I understand that you're unable to print to your HP PSC 750 all in one Printer, since you upgraded to Windows 10.  I will certainly do my best to help you.

I would try the steps within this guide, Installing and Using the Windows Built-in Print Driver, HP Printers - Windows 10 Built-in Driver Failed to Install and HP PCs - Troubleshooting USB connections (Windows 10, 😎.

Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. I look forward to hearing from you. Good Luck! Smiley Happy

I think my USB connectiion is ok as I have found that if I print a current page then it generally works. From here I tried printer trouble shoot from the printer menu. The trouble shooter says there is no problem  so I print the next page and its then I get a message 'Print Error'. I then opened the printer menu to see the document with print error. I then select the document and delete it. Once that has been done I recheck the 'trouble shoot' from the printer menu and can then print another selected current page. (Note the trouble shoot still doesn't find any fault and every time suggests  I explore additional options). I have managed to get my printing done with some success but after a couple of pages the print error is back. Its almost like if I don't use the printer for a time that on the first print it will work then fail after every other page is required to print.

Retested using scan doctor and it recognised that the USB was connected but when I pressed next it did a scan the I got the message that the port is incorrect. Hard to believe as i have always use dthat port.

Hi kazbo,

Thanks for getting back to me.

Did you follow the troubleshooting guide I recommended, Troubleshooting USB connections (Windows 10, 😎? This document should resolve port issues.

FWIW, I have what appears to be the same problem as Kazbo has reported with the HP PSC 750 All-In-One. The problem never appeared until the first print attempt after my Windows 10 upgrade from Windows 7. In general, if I print a single 8.5 x 11 page, it will work as it always has. So, I conclude there is no problem with the USB connection or with the printer itself. However, if I try to print a full 8.5 x 14 page of text, or multiple pages of 8.5 x 11 text, the printer will only print a few lines, and then stop with an error.

I can clear the error by selecting "See what's printing" in the right click menu for the printer under Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Devices and Printers. Until I clear the print error, no further printing or scanning can be done on the PSC 750. After clearing the error, I can scan as much as I want, and can usually print more text if I limit the printing to a single 8.5 x 11 page at a time.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the printer several times without clearing the problem. Under Windows 10, there apparently is no longer an HP driver available for the PSC 750. The driver in Windows 10 seens not to be fully functional for this device.

If anyone has a solution, I am certainly interested.

Hi @Buster4,

It sounds like you're experiencing jobs getting stuck in the print queue.

I would try the steps within this guide, HP Printers - Print Jobs Stuck in Print Queue (Windows)

In addition, you're using the Windows Built-in driver. Installing and Using the Windows Built-in Print Driver.

Well I have tried what was suggested but unfortunatley when i thought it was successful, the second page only got a third of the way before the print error popped up again.

When trying to reinstall after removing my printer, I picked 'Add Printer' and on searching, the wizard couldn't find my printer. The message was 'The printer  I wanted isn't listed". Tried the next item which was 'Find a printer by other options", which had a highlighted button (My printer is a little older ..Help me find it). Clicked on Next and no luck even after 20 mins of the search bar icon rolling across the search screen. Just couldn't find a printer.

Tried again to remove printer (which I did) and managed to use the Wizard to reinstall the printer again. Unfortunatley the attempt on printing stopped on the first page around a third of the way through.

I am thinking now of going through the whole procee of dumping windows 10 and go back to my original windows I had but with the way things are going I may develop more faults.

Hi @kazbo,

It sounds like you have exhausted your efforts to resolve this.

Windows Updates does not seem to be finding the appropriate driver for your printer. Are your Windows Updates current?

I agree,  you could revert back to a previous version of Windows and try Windows 10 at a later date or when you get a new printer which has the full HP Software for Windows 10.

Thank you for posting in the HP Support Forum. Have a great day!

Regarding your reply to me on 09-07-2015, I am not having a problem with jobs getting stuck in the print que, at least not in the sense that they cannot be easily deleted from the que.

The printer driver under Windows 10 causes an error condition to occur whenever the job I'm trying to print has more than one 8.5x11 page, or one page larger than 8.5x11. The error condition causes the job to block the print que, but since the job can easily be deleted, I wouldn't call it "stuck".

FWIW, I had already tried both of your 09-07-2015 suggestions prior to my original post. No luck.

The most recent post by Kasbo convinces me that he and I are indeed both experiencing the same problem.

I suspect there is no solution, short of uninstalling Windows 10, unless a new driver comes along.

Thanks for your consideration.
