Pikka, we should move your issue to its own thread, as I think it is not related to h_noor's issue.

To my knowledge, edl1cn1239ar is the most up to date firmware for h_noor's printer.

Pikka68, I don't think your issue is closed as AR and BR could refer to different hardware lines, but not necessarily. Your printer to my knowledge should take the update to epl2cn1239ar, but I'm not certain on that, so I need to talk to some people in another time zone.

Hi Pikka, regrettably, I don't know how to move your issue to its own thread. One of these days I'll have spent enough tiem on the forum to do such things.

Anyways, the answer to your question is there is no update for your printer at this time.

Basically what happened is HP manufactored pritners with version A of code, and then released an update for those printers to get to EPL2FN1133AR. We then manufactored printers with EPL2FN1133BR. We then released an update for EPL2FN1133AR to get to the release epl2cn1239ar.

However, HP has not released an update for EPL2FN1133BR to get to epl2cn1239ar (or what would be its equivalent, epl2cn1239BR).

I wish I could tell you why and a timeframe, but alas, I'm not allowed to. In a completely non binding statement or intent on HP to do anything or release anything, speaking for myself, I can say "we are aware of the problem and are looking to correct it in the next few weeks or months." Ya, sorry, not a very helpful timeframe.

Thank you very much for your interest to try to understand and solve the problem!
If you can fit a few days back I had opened another thread to try to attract attention!
When I got your help, I published a post asking the administrator to close the debate.
If you say you can go right, we leave it open and we pass them the answers ...
I have to correct the first post "where I asked her to close as well."

I have tried to follow the steps given, but when I type the IP address into my web browser I get a message that page failed to open. When I check the wifi on my printer, all shows as okay and connected, but the thing has disappeared from the network, and is no longer visibile to my Mac, iPhone or iPad.  Help, worked for 2 years, now it's disappeared.

Hi ChicagoA, please make a new post about your issue in its own separate thread and then I can look at it there as well as other people who might be able to help. Send me a message or post the link to the new thread here I guess? I didn't see a way to send a message on the forum.

The entering the IP address into the browser may not work because the printer doesn't have a security certificate and browsers can sometimes block sites without security certificates. Usually there is an option to accept that. As for the other computers not seeing it, maybe some other HP employees will know more.

Thanks for your reply. My printer is hooked up to the Wifi but cannot be seen from any of our devices--MacBooks, iPads, iPhones.  The printer worked for two years and suddenly it's no longer working. I managed to log into my router and send a ping to the IP address of the printer, there were no packets received.  How do I get the printer back on the network? I tried hooking up a cable, no luck, cannot even just print with the cable.  I put the IP address in the browser and was unable to access the page.  Any help greatly appreciated.

Could you create a new thread for your issue so that users h_noor and pikka68 won't get emails everytime we write to each other. Additionally, your issue seems to be a complete loss of wifi ability, where as the issue of this thread was performing a firmware update. There are people more adept at wifi problems where as my area of expertise is firmware update.

Thanks. In the new thread, please state what your printer's IP address is. If the IP address starts with 169.254... then the problem is the device is not getting an IP address from the DHCP, so the printer is self assigning itself one. The problem with that is the router doesn't know what the printer assigned itself.

It's not hopeless yet. On the downside, they haven't released an update for your printer. On the upside they haven't said they won't release an update...I'll let you know when it's hopeless.
