I tried it in safe mode & safe mode with networking. Both gave errors when trying to open support assistant, saying that the program does not work in safe mode.

Hey there! thanks for the reply.

Did you run the program as an administrator?

And have you tried to install HPSA on different hp computer?

Please provide the product number and OS version of the PC where HPSA is installed.

Have a great day!

I do not have another computer to install support assistant on. I can not run HP support assistant in safe mode at all. I get a pop up message that says "This feature is not available in safe mode"

I have Windows 10 Pro 64-bit on my HP Pavilion dv7 Laptop, product number LM726AV

Hey there! thanks for the reply.

I under that you still have issues  with HP support assistant.

But I found hp support assistant specifically for windows 10.

Please uninstall the old version and install the new version from the link below.

Let me know how it goes.

Have a great day!

After all this time of you telling everyone to update to the newest version, even when we already had it. You are now asking for us with windows 10 to go back to the old version, because that is what that file is, an older version than the one out now. But just for the heck of it, I did try uninstalling my support assistant & installing the old one that you linked to. But there was no change in the situation, the messages for the hp printer were still there & no matter how many times I deleted them or postponed them, they still come right back. So downgrading to an old version did not help what so ever. So I figured I might as well go back to the newest version, like I already had.

When is HP going to actually acknowledge that this is an issue & create an actual fix for this instead of telling us all to update even when we already have & then telling us to downgrade when nothing else has worked or even telling us to turn off the very features that we have it for, which takes away the messages, but then when there are new ones we would never know. I at least would prefer a fix for this & I am sure many others do also, because if we have to turn off the features, then why bother having support assistant to begin with. Either this gets fixed or I will just uninstall it.

Hey there! thanks for the reply.

I understand even after updating HP support assistant you still have issues.

So please contact HP phone support as we might have to perform extensive troubleshooting by taking remote of your computer.

Sorry, but I am not calling HP & paying $60 for them to work on this. I am not the only one with this issue, so HP needs to either find a fix for this issue or I & many others will just uninstall support assistant.

Hey there! thanks for the reply,

I understand you do not want to pay for the support. But i had told you to check to check with a different HP computer.

However, since you don't have one we have to perform extensive troubleshooting to know whether it is a operating system issue or is it the support assistant issue.

So please contact HP support for further assistance.

I already know it is a support assistant issue because I am not the only one having this issue, on this thread there is a few of us having the same issue. In fact on this forum is another post about the same exact issue, but the hp emplyee's answer to this issue on that thread was just to ignore it. right here http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Inkjet-Printing/hp-support-assistant/td-p/5714813

I have the exactg same issue. Simply ignoring the triangle is no solution, as that way I cannot see anymore when I do have a new issue or message. Having to regularly manually open Support Assistant to see if anything needs to be done is NOT a solution.

It is a disgrace to HP that this thread (describing a simple problem) has been going on for four pages without a solution. This coming from a supposedly world leader in PCs is just another proof that most suppliers cannot contrrol the complexity they created (in systems and in processes).

I would really appreciate it, if the HP employee who reads this would escalate this frustrating issue to second level support, so the Support Assistant app gets fixed.
