Photosmart 5510

I just found many fellows met the same issue. I have boughtt 2 black ink cartrigdes and tried already and it always prompt black ink not detected. I called HP hotline and told me the checking fee at once (almost half of the price i purchased this printer, and not including parts replacement). How come such a "printing giant" provide after sale service like that???

 

I need the procedure or steps to ensure it's not my printer but a generic HP black ink cartridge issue. Otherwise, I would rather crash such a rubbish printer and change to Cannon or Espon Printer.

Welcome to the HP Forums!

 

I understand that you cannot print in black with your HP Photosmart 5510 printer. And, I am happy to help! 

 

Are any of your other ink cartridges low or empty? 

 

In the meantime, please try going through this guide, Printer Prints a Blank Page or Does Not Print Black or Color Ink. And, if this guide does not resolve your issue. Take a look at this video:

Thanks for your reply. However, it doesn't work and always stays at the following screen after startup. Only power on/off button is  effective. I can't never do the full resset via the home button.
