Envy 5660

5 x 7 is mentioned in the user manual as one of the suggested photo papers.  I bought some, now how do I load it into the 5660, please?  The photo tray seems to only accept 4x6.  Worked very well with the sample paper that came w/printer.

Hi @byronw,

I would be happy to help you load 5x7 photo paper into your Envy 5660 printer. 5x7 is considered larger paper, this being said, please look at what I found in the user manual (Pg. 11) that I thought would help:

To load small-size paper

1. Pull out the photo tray. If you do not see the photo tray, remove the output tray from the printer.

2. Load paper.

● Insert a stack of photo paper into the photo tray print side down.

● Slide the photo paper forward until it stops.

3. Push the photo tray back in.

4. Change or retain the paper settings on the printer display.

To load full-size paper

1. Pull out the paper tray, slide the paper-width guides outward, and then remove any previously loaded media.

2. Load paper.

● Insert a stack of paper into the paper tray with the short edge forward and the print side down.

● Slide the paper forward until it stops.

● Slide the paper-width guides inward until they stop at the edges of the paper.

3. Push the paper tray back in.

4. Change or retain the paper settings on the printer display

I hope this helps. If you require further assistance please don't hesitate to let me know!

Hi Sunshyn2005,

I'm not the brightest bulb on the marqee, but I did manage to figure it out this morning and I should've returned here sooner to say so, saving you the trouble.

Much Thanks!!!!!

The solution sort of became apparent when I removed the output tray (kinda by accident) and noticed the markings for other sized papers on the Main Tray.  I hoped it wouldn't hurt anything to put "photo" paper where "normal" paper went.  It worked, though I was worried about damaging the printer.  It took some experimenting with my graphics program and printer settings to get the photos to print properly, but now I have it and I'm very happy.  I see it'll take 8x10 too, yippee.    🙂

That Photo Tray dedicated to only 4x6 through me off.   I assumed (never assume, I guess!) that this was the ONLY place for "photo" paper.  I'd read the manual before originally asking here.   Photo paper is only mentioned under "To load small-size paper."  To me, 5x7 is small-size.  The "To load full-size paper" section makes no mention of photo paper.  Perhaps, if/when the manual is revised, this might be made clearer.

Again, Muchly Thanks!!!!!
