How to change wireless printer network setting (SSID)

Is the wireless light on the printer still blinking? If it is not, what is being displayed as the IP address of the printer?

If it is still blinking, then your printer is not connected to the network and you will need to perform Wireless Setup WIzard or WPS to connect it to the new router.

Also, what is the brand and model of your router? This router was just purchased, correct?

The wirless light is steady blue, not blinking.

No, the router is not new, just new to this location and it is a Motorla Gateway Surfboard.

It worked great until I swapped routers to keep from paying Time Warner $6.00 per month lease.

I am not highly trained in technology, just a do it yourselfer.

I thought about deleting printer and adding but it just a new problem since the installation CD is now not working and the printer has no ethernet port.

Now Wireless Set up or WPS as in on the front of my printer?

Doing the WPS on front of printer, trying to connect - giving me a PIN #, so far still blinking on the wireless blue light.

If your Surfboard has a WPS push button, try that methos instead of the PIN

Yes, there have been compatibility issues with the Motorola Wireless Surfboards in the past.

If the wireless setup wizard and/or WPS is unable to connect the printer to the Surfboard then we may have to login to the Surfboard and change some settings.

I did the WPS on front of printer and it sat and blinked and blinked and timed out.
I have the following on printer :
WIFI protected set up, Push Button and PIN

I am sorry, but nothing I am doing is working.

My Surfboard, best I can tell, has no pushbutton, just a hidden reset button that has to be pushed with tip of ink pen.  I am afraid it will mess up internet.

You are very, very helpful, I just don't know why it is not working.

The wireless test page prints and shows I am not connected. I read on HP support that I could type the address in my browser, but when I do that, it just sits and doesn't bring up anything as to see where I could change the SSID. I am baffled.

It is still looking at my old network. Shows WPS YES on old network and NO to the new one. I don't know where inside the operating system to try and get rid of that old network now. When I do networks it is showing the correct one, but when I print HP Network Config Page it is NOT

How about the Wireless Setup Wizard, was that able to connect it successfully? (Wireless>Settings>Wireless Setup Wizard)

Entering the IP address in the browser will not work until the printer is connected and has an IP address.

Try Wireless Setup Wizard and if that doesnt work we will need to login to the Surfboard.
