My laserjet now has a second problem--today for the first time, when I ask it to print one copy it continuously prints until it runs out of paper. I can't cancel the document because after it prints the one document, then it keeps on printing even though no document shows up in the queue.

I see that you are having some issues with printing from your Laserjet 1022n Printer. I can help you with that, however I am going to need to know which operating system is on your computer first. Once I know that I will be better able to assist you.

Same thing is happening with my Laserjet pro 200 m276. I am using a mac el capitan os. I noticed this happening when I have to print a large number of copies ie 25-100 pages. The job is done in the que on my printer application but it just keeps printing. I can't even hit cancel on the actual printer itself. It won't cancel at all. I have to power down and restart the whole printer to get it to clear. This will happen if I am printing from a word document or adobe. I also updated my drivers on my mac  and nothing changed.

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

 

I understand that your M276nw will not stop printing multiple copies from your Mac OSX 10.11 machine. I can help you with that.

 

To start, make sure the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet and not a surge protector. Once that is done:

  1. If you have the USB cable connected to your Mac, remove it.
  2. Click on your Apple icon, System Preferences, Printers and Scanners.
  3. Hold the control key and click on the picture of your printer on the left.
  4. Click on Reset Printing System.
  5. Restart your Mac.

If you removed the USB cable, connect it. If not:

  1. Click on your Apple icon, System Preferences, and Printers and Scanners.
  2. Click on the plus button in the bottom left corner.
  3. Select your printer from the list.
  4. Click in the box next to Use and select your printer from the list.
  5. Click on Add Printer.

At this point you should be able to print without seeing any copies printing.

Alright, here's what we will do:

  1. If the USB cable is connected to your PC, remove it.
  2. In your search bar type in Printers and open Devices and Printers.
  3. Right-click on any icons of your printer listed.
  4. Click on Remove Device.
  5. Repeat for any icons of your printer listed.
  6. In your search bar type in Services and open Component Services.
  7. Select Services (Local) on the left.
  8. On the right, scroll down to and right-click on Print Spooler.
  9. Click on Stop.
  10. Open your C:/ drive and go to Windows, System 32, Spool, and Printers.
  11. Delete everything in this folder.
  12. Return to the Component Services Window.
  13. Right-click on Print Spooler and select Start.
  14. If you removed your USB cable previously, connect it. If not go to the Devices and Printers window and select Add Printer to add a print queue for your printer.
