Yeah, the HP people don't care. We need to all step up and take this to another level. Everything is documented and I'm taking it to another level. The public should be aware of such recklessness on the part of HP.

I also had my M1212nf bricked by a firmware update.  My printer is about 2 years old and only lightly used.  Based on the responses here I wil not be payingfor technical support.

Now I am without a printer and having a difficult time buying a new printer after 2 years.  HP printers used to be top quality but in the last few years the quality has dropped to unacceptable.

Hi Everyone,

I am working with the Firmware team to determine what is going on. It may take a week or so. Please be patient while I investigate and work on resolving this issue.

I hope HP disabled on their server the firmware updating batch which caused so many failures, to prevent further damage

I have used HP's for years. Purchased several for the hospital I work for. I have never seen a more trashy way to do a snuff bomb firmware. I used to work for their largest competitor in Lexington, KY. Not one time did we put out a driver that included a firmware update that was forced in the install. To date, I have seen 3 of these units do this. I will be looking to other manufacturers for printing needs. I don't mind paying for quality. I WILL NOT PAY FOR ANY "FIX" BY HP FOR THEIR INABILITY TO BACK THEIR FAULTY QUALITY CONTROL.

Count me in as well. I have just ruined a perfectly good printer by attempting to install the Windows 7 64Bit Driver.

This is completely and utterly unacceptable. I too will be moving away from HP products if this is not resolved. For HP to not own up to a mistake like this is the most unprofessional I've ever seen them be.
