I have a fairly new HP Pc. The Pavilion desktop with windows 8 installed. I wanted to trim some fat and wondered if the Bonjour program listed on the add/remove programs is an essential service.
While I have your attention is the Cyberlink Media Suite that comes bundled a trial or free for life?
Thanks so much! Jack ":-D

jnepoore,
The Bonjour service is a program from Apple. It is a program that discovers computers and programs/devices on computers that are inside a computing network. It is supposed to make communication between apple devices more efficient. That being said, if you have any apple devices connected to the network, it wont hurt to keep it on the PC.
Cyberlink Media Suite is a free program provided by HP. I would suggest keeping it up to date.
I hope this helps.

Hi,
Bonjour services are part of Apple's software to discover your devices through the network.
If you have any iOS device installed it is essencial for iTunes to discover the device propertly.
It more likely been added with any Apple's software installation and not bundled with your HP PC.
