PDF poor print quality

I just got this printer on 2/6/17 I love it with the exception of how it prints PDF files that have images in them.

IS there some setting I need to change so it prints them properly. I have printed the same page from Publisher and as a JPG and those print perfectly however the PDF version is horrible. Please let me know what I need to do to correct this printing issue as I have several PDF files that I will be printing regularly.

You could experiment with alternative print driver languages such as PCL5, PCL6 and PostScript.  Considering the problem is with PDFs and Adobe created PostScript I'd suggest trying a PostScript driver.  HP normally only offers PCL6 by default but thi printer should be compatible with UPDs.  UPDs come in all 3 print language flavors and are safe to play around with incase one of them works better than another.

Thank you so much. Where would I get a PostScript driver. (not sure what a UPD is, sorry some terminology escapes me) Also if I install the PostScript driver will it affect the printing with other programs? IF so how would I switch back and forth when not printing PDFs?

Drivers are tied to queues.  You can either update your current queue with the new UPD or create a 2ndary queue with the new driver.  Multiple queues can communicate with the same physical printer on a PC.  Feel free to switch back and forth as you please.  Thus, depending on how you choose to install the UPD it may or may not impact other applications.

I'd suggest setting up a 2nd queue and flipping back and forth from your normal Printer Dialog box (File > Print) whenever you want to print using the PostScript UPD.
