My scanning issue is fixed.  I did not have to completely uninstall and the reinstall the printer.  Rather, under web services settings, I removed web services and then reinstalled it.  It now scans to email!

This  does require establishing a new email address for hpeprint.

Now unable to scan from my 7520 AIO printer to the desktop. Error message: unable to connect to web services. Has worked fine for months until today. I know others have similar problem.

See my 11/15 post as to how I corrected my issue.

Having the same problem as everybody else, all of a sudden:  "Unable to connect to web services" when I try to scan.  I can print to the printer just fine, I tried changing it's DNS settings to 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4.  I power cycled it.

Someone for the love of god send me the instructions to reset this stupid printer before I throw it out the window.

Noose's reply on11-15 worked for me.  Uninstall web services and reinstall. Hope this helps.

Is "Uninstalling Web Services" an activity I do on the printer itself, or on my computer?

i.e. via the printer's touch-screen?

Or am I supposed to use Safari/WebBrowser to connect to the printer's intenal HTTP server and do it via that?

I'm on a Mac, and as far as I know, I sure don't have much if any "web services" software from HP installed on my computer...

Yeah, I just re-read his response. (a) I don't have a CD and (b) I never installed HP's software anywhere that I know of. This is a printer corruption issue, pure and simple. Surely there is a way of getting the printer itself to reset? It would be nice if the forum guy would just post out looud the instructions for anyone to read, rather than having to wait for him to reply to each and every one of what is clearly several thousand people encoutering the exact same problem, over and over and over...

Tap the top left icon on your printer screen.  To the right of it is the wifi icon.  That gets you to web services.  Then click on settings and you will see the remove web services option.  Uninstall and then reinstall.

There are several thousand postings here about 'the scanning problem' and although many are related to the Model 7520, some postings are about other models as well.  As someone just said 'for the love of god...' and I fail to see any solution useful to someone like me who is not technically inclined.  [Content Removed]

Where can we post our negative reviews so that no one else falls into this trap?
