Oh my gosh, I am having the same exact problem, I have a PC instead of a MAC. I spoken with several hp techs and still can not resolve the problem. They even had me do a semi reset ( unplug the power cord in the back and press 6 and # held down at the same time and plug cord back in until it clears out). No luck !! I am so frustrated. I thougth it may have something to do with my wireless router which I may reset it and see if that works. I was wondering if maybe I need to get another power cord. Let me know if you find anything else.

Smartfriend... thank you so much for posting this!!  My next step was to carry the unit to the store but now I don't have to do that!

Now, to see if I can get my wireless connection back up and running 🙂

Thx again.  I did hit KUDOS!

Same problem with my C6180.  On and off and on and off and on...............  I have did the # 6 which resets the system and it works for a while and then same old thing.  Brown outs hardly ever happen so I do not think that has anything to do with it.  This has been a great printer and have had it for 3 years.  If anybody figures this problem out then please post it .  HP does not seem to know what the problem is.

Exact same problem, makes me think HP has a serious quality issue with C6180.  I too just purchase ink, what a waste.  Replaced with Canon, never another HP.

I tried everything as described in this thread and others and the printer continued to turn off & on when trying to print wirelessly.  Finally, I uninstalled the software and reinstalled it.  Now the printers is working OK.  So far so good.  Hopefully it will hold.  I tend to beleive that a brown-out or power interuption caused most of the issue.  I have been using a power strip since I believe it is safer but who knows anyway.

Just a follow-up.  I noticed that during the software reinstallation, the printer was reconfigured.  That might be the key to this problem.

This solution worked for me, too. Thank you!

Well, I have the same problem and tried everything so far that worked for others on this thread but not much luck yet. Also tried changing the power brick (spent some good money, the printer cost a lot more and less the two years to just toss away), tried using different power outlet around the house, changed the UPS, changed the surge but no positive result yet.

What am I missing here!

Hope someone can help....

Thanks in advance!

Well the same thing happened and I tried everything, we even disconnected the wireless network and it worked for awhile but then started doing it again. I did not want to have to throw away a printer after only 2 1/2 years- piece of S*** printer. So we have bought a Lexmark and they have a 5 year warranty. So far very happy with it!
